Abstract

The concept of patient safety culture becomes an important point in health care organizations because by maintaining patient safety culture, patient safety incidents will be controlled. This study aims to determine the relationship between bedside handover and safety culture in the inpatient room of the Sanjiwani District General Hospital. This research is an observational analytic study with a crosssectional design. The samples in this study were nurses in the Astina, Arjuna, and Yudistira Ward of Sanjiwani Regional Hospital in Gianyar with a total of 54 respondents. The results showed that most of the bedside handovers were 30 respondents (55.6%) as good categorical and the safety culture was mostly 43 respondents (79.6%) as adequate categorical. Thus, there is a significant relationship which means that bedside handover inline with safety culture (p = 0.008, r = 0.368). In addition, The hospital maintains and improves bedside handovers so that it reaches both categories in all departments or rooms to improve the quality of hospital services so that the safety culture can be improved.
